Take 4 leaders and 34 girls and what do we have - a very happy and delightful group to take away for a weekend. Mix that with 10 activities and we also have some personal challenges, sense of achievement and some very tired people.

What a wonderful array of nightwear the girls own.
With a zumba routine, pillow fights and pampering sessions what else did we need for our Pyjama Party. Approx £100 will be sent to Water Aid

What an Eggciting night we had creating our own eggciting person, decorating a cream egg and seeing whether we could make a container to protect our egg when dropped from a great height
Monday 13th February
Congratulations to Beth, Zara, Olivia, Megan, Georgie, Bethan, Eleanor, Eloise, Jordan, Neffie,and Mariella who all passed their First Aid and are now Junior Lifesavers and have also gained their guide First Aid badge
Saturday 4th February
At the Purley Rotary Swimathon - our team did us proud and swam a combined 139 lengths in 55 minutes.They were praised for their behaviour and poolside organisation.

We went to see the pantomime 'Cinderella' - O yes we did.
A romantic story , two very amusing ugly sisters and a chance for a sing a long - a lovely evening

Saturday 10th December
On a very cold Wembley pitch, Beth, Jessica and Amie took part in the worlds largest rugby scrum consisting of 750 children from Scouting and Guiding and junior rugby clubs.
Friday 9th December
Well done to Ella, Neffie and Mariella for organising tonights Harry Potter themed evening.Everyone was sorted into a House. The 4 house groups each visited a class including potion tasting, quidditch, problem solving and finished the evening with a banquet.
A great way to end another successful term.

Friday 25th to Sunday 27th November
What a lovely weekend we had at Blackland Farm. Central heating protected us from the cold outside, good food cooked by Sally who dug out her uniform and joined us - just like old times. The girls made an assortment of gifts - some to used as christmas presents and some to enjoy themselves- from tea cup candles, notceboards, tree decorations and notebooks.Thanks go to Lynn, Louise and Sally for giving their weekend to guiding and also to Val and Meryl, two guiding friends for joining us.
Thanks also go to the girls for being well behaved and for those who said thank you as they left .
Friday 18th November
Well done to everyone who baked cakes and supported our Children In Need evening. We were amazed at the talent in cake making, icing and decorating that the girls displayed.
At the end of the evening we had raisised over £180. Thank you to all parents who helped make this a successful evening
Sunday 13th November
Well done to the 12 girls who attended Church parade.
We sold our cakes raising £38 for Children in Need and also gained some chocolate orders
Friday 11th November
Mix butter, icing sugar and cakes together and a watchful eye of an expert and we had a lovely array of decorated cakes to sell after church parade on behalf of Children in Need. Our thanks go to Maria - our expert visitor
Parents Rota
Finally a big THANK YOU to all the parents who are helping us at unit meetings. It does make a huge difference and your help is very much appreciated. The parents rota will continue after Christmas.

Leaders with patrol Leaders
5 of our Patrol Leaders joined 20 others from around Croydon for a day looking at team building, the role of the Patrol Leader, planning activities and evaluation. They have come back with some new ideas to introduce to the Unit.
Meet the Vicar
Last Sunday our new vicar, the Rev. Chris, joined us for a joint event with the Rainbows and Brownies.
We had the chance to see behind the scenes at the church, follow a treasure trail and play the church organ (which it turns out is very very loud). Rev. Chris also kindly took part in Ask the Vicar.Thanks go to the Rainbows for helping the Guides with the treasure trail and to Kim for organising a very interesting and enjoyable event.
Jack Petchey Award Ceremony
What a great celebration of girl guding in Croydon. Kim and Lynn were very proud to see Neffie, Zara and Ellen awarded their Jack Petchey medals by the Mayor of Croydon.
Big Gig 2011
The unit was really fortunate to secure 50 tickets for this year's Big Gig. On 1st October we enjoyed a great night at Wembley where the acts included The Wanted, Pixie Lott, and Olly Murs! Wembley, very kindly, supplied ear plugs for the leaders!!
It was a fantastic night. Roll on the next Big Gig ......
